• ◆Hemostasis by the sponge and its removal

Vein of lower extremity of mice was cut, and the sponge was put on the bleeding spot. The sponge absorbed the blood to be a soft gel, and adhered to the tissue. Bleeding was arrested soon. Twenty minutes later, the gelled sponge which was strongly adhered to the tissue was softened by PBS, and removed. After removal, rebleeding was not observed.

• ◆Hemostasis by the gauze/film and its removal

Vein of lower extremity of mice was cut, and the film with gauze was put on the bleeding spot. The film absorbed the blood to be a soft gel, and adhered to the tissue. Bleeding was arrested soon. Twenty minutes later, the gelled film was removed. After removal, rebleeding was not observed.

• ◆Clinical Study: Hemostasis after tooth extraction by the sponge packed in the syringe (patient is taking Bayaspirin)

The patient takes Bayaspirin. Everytime she had tooth extracted, she suffered from rebleeding, last year. The sponge packed in the syringe was pushed out into the socket after teeth extraction. It swelled to a soft gel, and filled the socket. Bleeding was efficiently stopped quickly, and rebleeding was not observed, this time. The wound healed very nicely.

• ◆Hemostasis by the gauze/sponge

Vein of lower extremity of mice was cut, and the sponge was put on the bleeding spot. The sponge attached to a gauze was put on the bleeding spot. The sponge absorbed the blood to be a soft gel, and adhered to the tissue. Bleeding was arrested soon, and rebleeding was not observed.

Vein of lower extremity of mice was cut, and the sponge was put on the bleeding spot. The sponge packed in the syringe was pushed out on the bleeding spot. It absorbed the blood to be a soft gel, and adhered to the tissue. Bleeding was arrested soon, and rebleeding was not observed.

• ◆The hemostatic pad was used for dialysis

After dialysis, the skin around the puncture was sterilized with povidone-iodine. Then, the hemostatic pad was put on the wet skin.After lightly pressing for less than 1 min, bleeding was stopped effectively.
